“I have to confess something,” I said to Luna as we headed toward the spa in the resort. It’d been two days since we’d crossed that line, since I’d had the best night of my entire life, and neither one of us had spoken about it or tried to cross it again.

“What’s up?” Luna asked, her eyes flaring just a bit wider as she looked up at me where we stopped outside the spa.

I wanted to tell her I couldn’t stop thinking about that night. Couldn’t stop thinking about how perfectly we’d fit together, how the chemistry between us had been like nothing I’d ever felt before. How I loved that these last two days had been normal between us—nothing awkward or lingering—just pure fun while we continued to get to know Ezra and Ava and more about their company.

“I…” Fear strangled my voice. What if I told her I wanted more and she shut me down? What if she said it was a fun one-time thing that got me out of her system? Could I survive that? “I saw your website this morning while you were designing it.”

Luna laughed, the sound somehow relieved. What had she thought I was going to say? “You were looking over my shoulder?”

I held up my thumb and forefinger, only leaving a tiny space between the two. “Just a little. I loved it. It’s got your voice all over the designs.”

She pressed her lips together to try and hide her smile. It was adorable as hell, and pride swelled in my chest that I’d been the one to put that smile there.

Fuck, I’d made her skin flush and her eyes roll back in her head two nights ago, and it was one of the most incredible things I’d ever seen. I locked my thoughts down before I walked into the spa with my cock on full display.

“Thank you,” she finally said. “I’m almost finished with the last of my designs. If I keep up this pace, I should be able to launch the site before we even finish this trip.”

“That’s incredible,” I said, holding the door open for her and motioning her into the spa lobby. “I can’t wait to see what happens.”

She’d been busting her ass during the times we weren’t attending parties, events, or lectures here at the retreat, and I admired the hell out of her for it. It was like now that she’d been freed of the shackles her ex had kept her in, there was no stopping her.

Luna shrugged, doubt flickering over her features. “Well, if it fails, I’ll still have the boutique.”

“Hey,” I said, turning to stand in front of her. Fuck, she was gorgeous dressed in a pair of loose cotton pants and a simple T-shirt, her long red hair flowing over her shoulders in causal waves. “One, it won’t fail. Two, you have to visualize your success. Spend your energy focusing on the best possible outcomes, not the worst.”

Her eyes trailed up to mine, jumping between me and my lips and back again.
